Recognizing the unity of the Church of Christ in all the world, and extending to all true believers the hand of Christian fellowship, we confess with them our faith in the great fundamental truths in which all Christians should agree.
We accept the Scriptures as the Word of God, composed by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, and believe them to be the only infallible rule of religious faith and practice.
We confess our faith in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the only living and true God, the Creator and Preserver of all; in the Father, the sovereign and righteous Disposer of all events; in Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word, Who is exalted to be our Redeemer and King; in the Holy Spirit, Who is present in the church to renew and sanctify the soul.
We confess the common sinfulness and ruin of our race and that it is only through the life and expiatory death of Christ that any are justified before God, receive remission of sins, and through the regenerating and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are delivered from the power of sin, and ultimately perfected in holiness.
We believe in the institution of the local and visible church, in the ministry of the word, in the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, in the resurrection of the dead, and in a general judgment, and that the wicked shall go into everlasting punishment, and the righteous into eternal life.
